EUROPEL was born from an idea of Mr. Jacques Mathieu, a Dairy teacher in ENILV (La Roche-sur- foron) who sent, in 1988, a letter to more than 20 teachers who teaches Dairy in the European Union (see "the beginnins" in the center of resources). It's first assembly was held in La Roche.sur-Foron in April 1990. About fifty persons representing 28 institutions from 11 countries met there. At present, more than fifty schools, hight schools and universities have shown their intention to take part in EUROPEL works.
- To offer every person who teaches in the fields of sciences and dairy industries the possibility to perfect her/his knowledge by multiplying her/his contacts with professionals and researches.To help her/him pupils or students into the European community life by giving them opportunity to understand and appreciate the cultural and linguistic richness of Europe.
- To create, between the institutions members of EUROPEL, linkswich come from their specilities and their favourite fields in order to favour students and teachers exchanges, but also to develop new training rounds within the frame of EEC.
- To take part in the realisation of the circle Research-Training-Production, with the help of industry and thus to contribute to it's development.
